Bicycle lovers all around the world will quite agree on one thing: after several miles of cycling, you would feel a slight discomfort in your legs, buttocks, and back. This led Marco Mazza, the Italian inventor of the wellness bike PMZERO, also a bike lover since he was a kid, to develop a new bicycle never been created before “on human scale” that will cure all the discomfort issues caused by traditional bicycles and its other short comings. Hence, the PMZERO was born.
The PMZERO comes with a small electric motor connected to a rechargeable battery for assisted pedaling, this its inventor says will make long distance cycling more fun, effortless and relaxing.
Marco Mazza admitted to have been spurred to action by a night dream. “One night I dreamt I was riding my mountain bike and I must have gone for several miles, since I felt a slight discomfort in my legs, buttocks, and back… At some point, I woke up, and as I started daydreaming I was thinking that my bicycle was awkward and unnatural in its riding position.” This brought the PMZERO to life to help other bikers that might have been secretly feeling like he was, with his old bike.
Made in Italy, its electric motor made in Japan, the PMZERO has been in the works for about 60 months with various prototypes back and forth, it is now ready to hit the mass market. Its retail price is estimated to be about $3,890, but interested buyers can get their hands on one early enough, with a color of their choice, through its kick starter campaign at a bargain price.
On PMZERO’s performance and build, the team behind it says, “Its technology marks a new era for electric and non-electric bicycles.” It further added that “The results of this innovation are revolutionary: the pleasure of cycling while doing fitness with no effort and a sensation of pleasure and an increment of endorphins.”
