Irina Fooks is a graduate of the Russian Conservatory of Music. She is an Akademia award winner in the field of ambient music as well as the Artist of the Year according to the organization. As a pianist, Fooks has been active as a pianist for opera performances throughout the United States and she focuses mainly on modern classical ballad compositions and has developed a great style of her own. The work of Brubeck has been vital to Fooks’ development in the world of piano performance. Fooks’ new album Homage to Dave Brubeck is designed with many works that were heavily inspired by the pianist’s iconic masterpieces.
On her inspiration for the album concept Arina Fooks said “I’ve always found a deep admiration and connection to David Brubeck. Working on this project has been so an incredible journey and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to finally release this work for David and for the listener.”
