Performing Cryolipolysis With The Pagani Star T Shock

Cryolipolysis is a method intended to remove fat by freezing. It involves controlled application of cooling within the temperature range of 0 to -11C for the localized reduction of fat deposits, intended to reshape the contours of the body. The degree of exposure to cooling causes cell death of subcutaneous fat tissue, without apparent damage to the overlying skin or surrounding subdermal tissue.

Based on the premise that fat cells are more easily damaged by cooling than skin cells, cryolipolysis was developed to apply low temperatures to tissue via thermal conduction. In order to avoid frostbite a specific temperature level and exposure are determined. While the process is not fully understood, it appears that fatty tissue that is cooled below body temperature, but above freezing, undergoes localized cell death (“apoptosis”) followed by a local inflammatory response that gradually over the course of several months results in a reduction of the fatty tissue layer.

Yet while the benefits of cryoliposis have produced promising results, it’s a one-dimensional treatment. Researchers find that contrast therapy, or thermal shock, produces multiple benefits from killing fat cells to reducing the symptoms of cellulite to reversing the signs of aging than any other treatment. For estheticians and spa owners seeking science-backed tools to help their clients see faster and more noticeable results in the mirror, here is what you should know about how thermal shock works and why researchers are so excited about this emerging technology.

Where the application of cold alone — as in cryoliposis — has been shown to break down fat cells which can contribute to the unsightly appearance of cellulite, thermal shock goes a step further in eliminating the cells from the body through lymphatic drainage for more immediate and effective results. Using alternating cycles of hot and cold, thermal shock reduces the number of fat cells and reverses the signs of cellulite by increasing blood flow and circulation, stimulating the production of collagen, and improving overall skin elasticity.

By using heat followed by cold to constrict blood vessels, thermal shock treatments are able to boost metabolism and improve blood flow in the area simultaneously while killing fat cells and no resulting damage to adjacent tissue. By alternating cold with hot temperatures in pre-set protocols organized by gender and body part, this non-invasive therapy safely and effectively reduces subcutaneous fat deposits in various parts of the body (arms, legs, back, abdomen). Thermal Shock also gradually eliminates the signs of cellulite and promotes a smooth skin surface. In a case study of 92 women, aged 31 to 62 years old, 69 women saw a complete reduction in cellulite of the legs via thermal shock treatment across eight sessions. 19 women saw moderate improvement and only four say little or no improvement.

Thermal Shock is also much safer with far fewer contraindications than cryolipolysis devices using suction and extreme cold. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, Cool Sculpting treatments result in a condition called PAH in one in 2000 sessions where the fat cells inflate and need to be removed through invasive liposuction.

So if the cost and risks of CoolSculpting are giving you goosebumps then you should consider a Thermal Shock treatment with the Pagani Cryo T Shock or STAR T Shock.
