PatientPartner continues to reinvent the patient experience. In addition to connecting current surgical patients to patients who have recently undergone the same procedure, the company is now aiming to take the guesswork out of another element of surgery: insurance.

One of the top reasons people don’t go through with surgery is because of the cost. PatientPartner is unveiling a new feature that will allow incoming patients to instantly determine if they are eligible for surgery and whether or not they qualify for insurance coverage.

Patrick Frank, one of the co-founders of PatientPartner said, “It is a common misunderstanding that weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. We want to put an end to that today. With this feature release where patients can cross-check their eligibility with their insurance coverage, we are helping educate patients on what is covered, so they can be best prepared for surgery.”

George Kramb, one of the co-founders of PatientPartner, adds, “Sadly, most patients believe their insurance does not cover bariatric surgery, as they think it is a cosmetic operation. The truth is, most insurance companies do, in fact, cover these surgeries, as long as you hit certain health parameters. We hope to share this information with all patients, as it can have such a wonderful impact on their overall health.”

PatientPartner is a platform that helps patients navigate their surgical journey. PatientPartner turns the daunting surgical process into a positive and comforting experience by connecting patients through relatable experiences.  PatientPartner offers the first program that connects pre-surgical patients directly with fully recovered patients who went through the same surgery, often with the same surgeon.

This program is designed to assist surgeons, hospitals, and device companies in building a long-term referral network of patients by creating a one-of-a-kind patient experience. This peer-to-peer patient advocacy program gives users the opportunity to learn from real experiences, and helps empower patients to achieve more successful outcomes through connectivity.
