Daytona Beach, FL – August 19, 2025 – ParentApproved.org, a non-profit dedicated to improving safety and quality in Florida’s alternative education sector, has launched the Florida Provider Verification Program. This unique initiative verifies Step Up scholarship-eligible providers, homeschool enrichment programs, microschools, tutoring services, and homeschool support services — ensuring parents can confidently choose high-quality educational options for their children.
With homeschooling in Florida reaching record enrollment and alternative learning models expanding, families often struggle to identify programs that are truly safe, academically valuable, and trustworthy. ParentApproved.org’s verification system addresses this challenge by evaluating safety practices, program quality, and staff credentials, giving parents the assurance they need.
Florida’s First Independent Verification for Alternative Education Providers
Founded by Jeanell Sullivan, a retired Lockheed Martin research engineer with 20+ years of experience in quality verification and process improvement, ParentApproved.org is the first non-profit in Florida to create an independent verification system for non-traditional education.
“As a homeschooling parent, I know how easy it is to be swayed by polished marketing without understanding the safety or quality standards behind a program,” says Sullivan. “ParentApproved.org exists to give Florida families transparency and peace of mind.”
Why Florida Families and Step Up Providers Benefit from Verification
Unlike public and private schools, many Florida homeschool enrichment programs, microschools, and Step Up providers are not required to:
- Conduct background checks on staff
- Maintain verified emergency and safety protocols
- Meet measurable educational benchmarks
The Florida Provider Verification Program closes this gap by offering:
- Verification Badges – Signifying compliance with safety, transparency, and educational quality standards
- Safety Banners – Highlighting in-person programs with verified emergency procedures and secure facilities
- Public Directory (Launching September 2025) – Allowing families to search verified Florida enrichment providers by city, county, or program type
For Florida Education Providers
Any Florida educational provider — including Step Up scholarship-eligible providers, tutoring centers, homeschool co-ops, microschools, and community enrichment programs — can apply for ParentApproved.org verification.
The process is voluntary and affordable, making it accessible for small, independent, and community-based education providers.
For Florida Parents
Families can nominate programs for verification or search verified options once the public directory launches in September 2025. This ensures safe, high-quality enrichment opportunities for children while supporting programs that meet established safety and educational standards.
