Corona treatment is a core pre-process in laminated paper production, with a clear principle: A high-frequency and high-voltage power supply (voltage 5000-15000V/㎡) is applied between the discharge electrode and a dedicated corona treatment roller (made of silicone rubber or ceramic, featuring high temperature resistance, ozone resistance and strong insulation). When the voltage breaks through the ionization resistance of the 1-2mm air gap, the air is ionized to generate a large amount of ozone. Ozone oxidizes the surface molecules of plastics to form carbonyl compounds and peroxides. ①Stable voltage and power: The voltage must be continuously maintained above 6KV and the power not less than 6KW. Especially in the extrusion lamination process, the base material must undergo centralized surface corona treatment. Insufficient voltage or inadequate treatment will directly lead to insufficient surface tension of the base material, causing defects such as PE coating peeling and delamination.
②Surface cleaning effect: Corona treatment can simultaneously remove oil, moisture and dirt from the film surface, clearing obstacles for subsequent adhesion processes, improving the adhesion of printing ink and reducing the defect rate of finished products.
