Dr. Stelzner has been practicing for more than twenty-one years and is currently serving patients at Santa Monica Eye Medical Group in Santa Monica, California. She is a leader in comprehensive eye care and innovative eye surgical techniques.Dr. Stelzner is Chief of Ophthalmology at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopedic Hospital, Director of Eye Care at the Greater Los Angeles Veteran’s Hospital, Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine/Jules Stein Eye Institute, the benefactor of several UCLA undergraduate and graduate scholarships, and a staff surgeon at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, Santa Monica Surgery Center, and Laser Eye Associates in Beverly Hills.
Dr. Stelzner attended Boston University and was awarded his medical degree in 1993. She interned at Boston University and served her residency at the University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Stelzner completed a research fellowship at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is board certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and remains an active member of the American Association of Anti-Aging, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the California Medical Association. Dr. Stelzner is also the recipient of a Best Teaching Award from the Jules Stein Eye Institute/UCLA. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She links his success to his attention to details, perseverance, and staying on the cutting edge of treatment. She is a contributor and editor of cataract section of Eyewiki. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Stelzner obtained an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and a graduate degree in cellular and molecular biology at UCLA. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, yoga, and running.
