As the current COVID-19 pandemic reshapes the world, people worldwide are being called on to develop new lifestyle habits and behaviors. Most commonly, this includes the practice of wearing face masks while in public to prevent the transmission of deadly diseases. But as putting on and taking off reusable masks becomes a ritual, many are left struggling to find a place to store their masks after shopping, driving, socializing, or exercising. Wearing a face mask on one’s neck is not hygienic, and holding a mask in a bare, ungloved hand also increases the risk of transmission. But (safe), a new mask bag on Kickstarter, is tackling this challenge head-on.
Dedicated to providing a product that reduces self-contamination risks, (safe) fits into everyday mask-wearing routines. Developed by experts with ten years of experience in design and product development, (safe) can be worn as a neck bag, crossbody bag, or belt bag. Perfect for homemade or medical-grade masks, (safe) comes in two stylish models, casual and business. Each combines grey or black felt, consisting of 90% wool and 10% polyester, with durable synthetic cords for long-term use. Minimizing direct contact with a contaminated mask, (safe) can be cleaned and sterilized easily with standard disinfecting methods. To sterilize, simply iron the felt material, handwash it with regular soap or laundry detergent, or place it in an oven at 70°C.
With a new appealing accessory, find practical ways to pack and unpack reusable masks and reduce the risk of self-contamination. For a limited time, support (safe) on Kickstarter here. Pledge just €10 to support these efforts, or pledge €15 or more to get your own (safe) mask bag. Some rewards are limited, so act fast! The first mask bags are expected to ship in June 2020.
(safe), from München, Germany, is dedicated to providing a product that helps people worldwide reduce self-contamination risks while wearing face masks. Easing the mask-wearing routine, the (safe) team brings over ten years of experience in design and product development to this project.
