Zahra Majeed, an educator in the Washington, DC area, has announced an exciting new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for her new digital service designed to supplement K-12 education. The project, titled “My Field Trip,” is an innovative and comprehensive solution that connects students to real-world learning opportunities through virtual and personalized field studies. The platform fosters collaboration and engagement between students by encouraging them to share and reflect on their knowledge while simultaneously addressing their personalized learning goals. Additional features include itinerary building, permission slip collection, chaperone enlistment, and more.
My Field Trip aims to be a solution to the strain COVID-19 placed on the education system, particularly concerning the practice of real-world field studies. By offering virtual visits and increased access to this crucial form of learning, My Field Trip is designed to provide students with the same benefits while working around pandemic limitations. The digital service will go live during the 2021-22 school year.
With a total goal of $3,500, funds gained through the campaign will be used to supplement the project’s efforts. Early backers can show their support for My Field Trip by pledging any amount until December 4, 2020, though contributions of $50 or more will include a gift featuring high school student art.
