ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Eric Kinney is the founder and CEO of Scurry, a Silicon Valley financial technology company. A graduate of the University of California San Diego (UCSD) with Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Economics, Kinney earned his Global MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. He brings over 30 years of financial services experience across traditional banking, wealth tech, and financial technology — specializing in operations, risk, compliance, fraud, investigations, and financial crimes.
Kinney has served as a board-appointed Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer for four fintech companies. He was the 7th employee at LendingClub, co-founder of AssetFort, and BSA Officer at Oxygen and Slash. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and served as a DOJ witness in a landmark fintech case involving a former employer. Outside of finance, he is an avid long-distance runner and open water marathon swimmer.
