NHU Made Debut on the “Top 100 Chinese Multinational Private Enterprises 2025”

On December 12, the forum Resilience, Symbiosis, Leadership – Release of the Top 100 Chinese Multinational Private Enterprises and the Zhejiang Business Think Tank Dialogue on the 15th Five-Year Plan” was successfully held in Hangzhou. At the event, the Center For Chinese Multinationals (CCM) of Zhejiang University Business School (ZIBS) released the Top 100 Chinese Multinational Private Enterprises 2025 list. NHU was honored to be included, in recognition of its forward-looking global strategy, robust and continuously innovative R&D system, and growing international influence.

This recognition not only affirms NHU’s achievements in internationalization, but also serves as a strong impetus for us to expand into broader global horizons. Amid the profound restructuring of global industrial chains, NHU’s solid global practices offer a compelling example of how Chinese private enterprises can advance on their path toward globalization.

Global Innovation – Building a Global R&D Network and Patent Portfolio

NHU remains firmly committed to an innovation-driven development strategy, positioning R&D as the core engine of its global competitiveness. Over the past five years, we have invested RMB 5.506 billion in R&D in total, with average annual R&D spending accounting for more than 5% of sales revenue. We have established R&D centers in Singapore and Japan, deeply integrating global scientific resources with market demand. To date, NHU has been granted a total of 844 patents, including 144 overseas patents, covering key product lines such as methionine, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), vitamins (VA, VE, VD3), coenzyme Q10, and isocyanates. This robust patent portfolio has enabled us to build a strong technological moat worldwide, drive breakthroughs in the localization of critical products, and demonstrate our transformation from “Made in China” to “Created in China.”

Global Impact – Pioneering Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development

In advancing the global chemical industry toward a greener and more sustainable future, NHU actively participates as both an advocate and a co-builder. In collaboration with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), NHU co-established the IUPAC–Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advances in Green Chemistry, becoming the first Chinese enterprise to jointly set up an academic award with this internationally authoritative organization. Focusing on the frontiers of green chemistry, the award has recognized 16 outstanding chemists from around the world, bringing together top global scientific minds to accelerate the industry’s transition toward greener, higher-end, and more sustainable development.

In the area of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), NHU has deeply embedded sustainable development into its corporate strategy. Centered on a dual-engine model of “Chemistry+” and “Bio+”, we promote green transformation across the industry through innovation. In 2025, we released our first ESG report and received strong recognition from leading international rating agencies: our MSCI ESG rating was upgraded to A, and we were awarded Gold Medal status by EcoVadis, ranking among the top 5% of assessed companies globally. These achievements reflect NHU’s responsible development philosophy and growing international trust.

Global Expansion – Empowering Diverse Industries with Integrated Solutions

With sales centers established across Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, and other regions, NHU continues to enhance the resilience of its global supply chain and build a broad, responsive international service network. Today, NHU provides integrated solutions to customers in more than 100 countries and regions, spanning nutrition and health, personal and home care, transportation, environmental protection, and energy. Through high-quality, healthy, green, and low-carbon products, NHU is consistently improving quality of life for people around the world.

Guided by the ongoing wave of globalization and China’s continued commitment to high-level opening-up, NHU will remain anchored to its mission of “Exploring Chemistry, Improving Life”. With higher aspirations and a broader global vision, we will continue to strengthen innovation leadership and responsible practices, expand the depth and breadth of international cooperation, and create long-term value for global customers, partners, and investors—showcasing to the world the vitality and resilience of high-quality development among Chinese private enterprises.
