New Website for Group of EMTs in Utah Offering First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification for Individuals

If someone has a life-threatening emergency they will die in four to six minutes unless a bystander takes fast action and has been trained in first aid, CPR, and AED, according to a new website.

Salt Lake City, Utah – Knowing what to do in the event of a life-threatening emergency makes the difference between life and death, which means bystanders are the best chance for a victim to survive.

A group of EMTs and paramedics have joined forces to help more people learn the skills of First Aid, CPR, and AED so they can respond quickly when a life is threatened by injury or illness such as stroke or cardiac arrest. The website www.CPRFirstAidAEDCertification.com offers low-cost classes.

Training is provided on a regular basis for individual members of the public to attend in a classroom located at the Miller Campus of Salt Lake Community College in Sandy just off I-15 at the 90th South exit. Instructors are also willing to travel to other locations to accommodate the needs of non-profit, and community service groups and organizations, as well as families and neighborhood groups.

Each instructor is an experienced EMT or paramedic, which means the classes are taught by instructors who have actually done the things they teach.

A victim who has a serious injury or illness causing them to stop breathing, to have severe bleeding, or suffer a stroke or cardiac arrest will die in just a few minutes if bystanders do not take immediate action. If no one is trained with the correct life-saving skills, it is unlikely an ambulance crew will arrive in time.

Participants in the classes also have the option of additional training in CPR for infants and children, as well as choking. Healthcare providers also have the option of adding healthcare provider CPR to the class if they wish.

The class takes approximately four hours, and is available on week nights and some Saturday mornings on a regular basis. The specific dates and times can be found by clicking the button at the bottom of each page of the website at www.CPRFirstAidAEDCertification.com.
