New Children’s Release Features a Value-Teaching Mountain Lion

A new children’s book transforms the stuff of nightmares—a scary mountain lion—into a friendly animal that all the other animals love. In Gnarlytooth, the Mean Mountain Lion (Redemption Press 2017) author Rosie Bosse teaches children not to judge by appearances as she reveals the underlying issue behind the mountain lion’s bad behavior as a painful, gnarly tooth growing into his chin.

With the source of his pain unexpectedly taken care of, Gnarlytooth transforms into a kind mountain lion. As Gnarlytooth learns the value of friendship, caring, sharing, and kindness, children aged three to early readers will also learn these values.

“Friends are a wonderful thing and we all need them,” says author Rosie Bosse. Inspired by her grandchildren who love to hear her stories, this Kansas cattle rancher’s wife says, “I like happy stories so all of my books will promote a valuable message and have a happy ending.  I want kids to know that reading is fun and for them to look forward to reading as much as I do.” Rosie Bosse plans to continue the adventures of Gnarlytooth in future books in her “Down on the Farm” series.
