New Book, “How Much Can I See” Explores the Life and Struggles of M. L. Farrell as a Legally Blind Person and Cancer Survivor

Maya Farris is a 30-year-old cancer survivor reflecting on life, love, and the pursuit of happiness in this novel based on her battle with cancer and life experiences

M. L. Farrell is pleased to announce the release of her debut novel, How Much Can I See, which explores her life and struggles as a legally blind individual.

The book follows the story of Maya, a legally blind woman. To add to her legal blindness, Maya was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily for her, she survived cancer, and when things began to fall into place, an event that would further shape her life occurred. Maya is now 30 years old, and she wakes up from a coma, strapped to a hospital bed, with her deceased grandmother’s beautiful spirit encouraging her to come back and rejoin the land of the living.

Maya was not interested in living again. According to her, “I just didn’t care. It’s hard to grow up thinking no one wants you. That you’re nothing but a burden. Ever since I was five years old, the trauma of constant surgeries was also very hard. People were supportive, but no one wanted to be the blind kid. The sick kid. And the black kid.”

Speaking about M. L. Farrell’s book, D. D. Scott, an International Bestselling Author, had this to say, “M. L. Farrell’s debut book is an incredible opportunity to learn the challenges faced, the victories won, and the battles lost during the heart-expanding journey of living life legally blind. Poignant, but with a wonderful sense of humor woven in, she has written a story you’ll never forget. I’m looking forward to her next book.”

The book is now available on Amazon.
