Neil Mehta, founder of Royal, is a passionate start-up guy, traveling around the world, and spearheading business opportunities in various industries. His entrepreneurial journey and work has made him stand apart as someone who isn’t afraid to venture into unexplored territories.
Popularly known as Neil X, this entrepreneur defies expectations. Born in Chicago and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Neil went to The Ohio State University and went on to complete a Master’s in Public Health degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. While he originally planned on attending medical school, he soon found himself introduced to the world of business.
Soon after graduate school, Neil joined a medical technology start-up working on clinical trial implementation for innovative medical technologies in one of India’s biggest healthcare organizations. A year later, he was looking for ways to start his own business. The first venture was a healthcare consulting firm, NXM Global Partners, that works with Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) to help physicians save money through a Medicare shared savings initiative. NXM has helped ACOs save Medicare more than $20 million in less than three years.
Success breeds success, so Neil launched GlobalOne Sciences, a tech incubator for securing public and private funding to develop early stage technologies. GlobalOne licenses innovative medical technologies globally and partners with one of the largest medical research institutes in the world.
From healthcare consulting to tech incubation, Neil never thought about getting into the retail industry, let alone the sexual wellness market. After some market research, a little money, and loads of passion, Neil dove head first to create a new, all natural and organic, luxury flavored condom brand, Royal. Officially launched in June 2017 after receiving their FDA 510(k) clearance, this e-commerce venture has tasted success after being featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine and as the fastest growing condom brand on Amazon. Royal clocked six-figure sales with virtually no marketing, in under one year. Their next target is getting the product in retail stores in the near future.
When he’s not developing new ideas and working on start-ups, Neil travels the world, expands his cuisine-curious pallet, dabbles in the fine arts of fashion, and guides the Asian Indian American youth on how to start their own businesses.
