At the recently held Mrs India 2017, Swetha Singh was crowned the Mrs India First Runner-up. The momentous event was held on the 4th July, 17 at Feathers Hotel, Chennai.
47 finalists competed to win the glorious crown. Winners of Mrs India North 2017, Mrs India South 2017 and Mrs India West 2017, Mrs India Karnataka 2017, Mrs India Kerala 2017, Mrs India Rajasthan 2017, Mrs India Himachal Pradesh 2017 and Mrs India Chhattisgarh entered into the final in the presence of the judges Bony Sashidharan – Hair Expert ,Neetha Bhoopalan – Foods Branding Expert & Celebrity Food Consultant, Dr.Mayil Vaganan Dorai – Scientific Professional and Mr. Nalli Kuppuswami and Dr. Renuka David – Woman Entrepreneur.
While most pageants focus only on looks, Mrs India stands apart by celebrating the confidence, attitude and achievements of a married woman. The contestants actively took part to help and support various social causes like women empowerment, education, environmental issues, mental health and more as part of the selection process.
Swetha was also awarded the title of ‘Mrs India Sparkling Diva 2017’. She was previously crowned as Mrs India South First Runner up 2017 and hence was selected to participate in the Nationals.
Swetha was born in Mysore and currently resides in Manchester, UK and hence represented the pageant as an International candidate. She is the Head of Software Quality Insurance at Ignite Insurance Systems in the UK. Swetha is a member of PETA and wants to support the cause of animal welfare during her reign.
Swetha contributes her success largely to the mentoring and guidance extended by the National Director, Mrs Deepali Phadnis – the pioneer of this prestigious platform, Mrs Pratibha Saunshimath and Mrs Jaz Preet, who she believes is not only her mentors but are her role models who’s footsteps she aspires to follow.
Mrs India is the only beauty pageant in India which provides a gateway to international platforms for Indian married women and is founded by Ms. Deepali Phadnis, former Mrs Asia International.
