Mother of three, Inventor & Founder of Baby Bottle Brush Bib Company
Oklahoma City, OK – January 14, 2021 – Bessie Lee-Cappell loves her job a Philadelphia social worker; however, upon returning from maternity leave after having her third child, she faced a whole new level of frustration. “Try washing baby bottles. Pull the bottle brush out and see how it makes you feel to have that sour soapy water splash in your face and work clothes!” she suggests. “I bought multiple kinds of bottle brushes, but all of them splashed that nasty water all over me.” Out of desperation, she developed a creative solution: a protective silicone barrier that goes around the brushes to prevent the dreaded splash back. Now she’s sharing it via her new businesses, the Baby Bottle Brush Bib Company.
Baby number three wasn’t done wreaking havoc on the busy mom’s life. He began biting his cloth pacifier clips and also vomiting on them. During a subsequent search for teething pacifier clips, she stumbled acrossbeaded versions, but was anxious about the beads coming loose and becoming a choking hazard. “I also thought, ‘How do you properly clean the string that is holding the beads together?’” Lee-Cappell shares. “Constant washing throughout the day did not seem possible, and I knew that the daycare was not going to wash it all day like I would.”
Out of necessity, the inventor created the all-in-one Pacifier Teether Clip and a second company, Bessie’s Love & Care. The product is FDA-approved, BPA-free, and eco-friendly. It grows with baby to toddlerhood on four levels, doubles as a teether, and is made of 100% silicone to reduce bacteria and thrush. Also sold are adorable, BPA-free, Elephant Suspender Clips that double as teethers. Both offerings provide a welcome end to unsightly, chipped, and bite-marked accessories. “The goal of my products is to make parenting easier,” Lee-Cappell explains.
