Monspace CEO Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai attended a cheque handover ceremony hosted by Regeneration Charity Fund on 1 March 2018 (Thursday) at Melbourne Plaza, Queen’s Road, Hong Kong. Monspace has donated to the charity to help rebuild lives of those who suffer from diseases and disabilities.
The Regeneration Society was founded in May 1991. As a registered charity dedicated to helping patients with their recovery, this organisation is funded mainly by donations. With a mission to rebuild the health and life of patients, the charity has long been offering a variety of services to patients with Lupus, Scleroderma, chronic pain, and emotional distress.
To help more people prevent and deal with diseases, Regeneration Society started the Regeneration Charity Fund. The fund aims to procure donations both locally and internationally, which will then be channeled towards workshops, talks, volunteering, publishing, treating patients, and campaigning etc.
During the cheque handover ceremony, a series of exciting performances were presented. Most impressively, they are all done by people in wheelchairs.
The Top 10 Regeneration Warrior Award was founded by Regeneration Society in 1996. This year, the award turns 22 years old.
Every year, stories of courageous survivors and their battles were shared. After 22 years of hard work, these inspiring stories of perseverance has caught the eye of Hong Kong’s media. TV and radio stations extensively cover the news, and has inspired the people of Hong Kong to stay brave amidst difficult times.
Regeneration Warrior He Hui Lan, for example, has an impressive story. She once fell down in her company, and many medical mistakes later, her nervous system suffered injury followed by 24 hours of pain and insomnia. She was wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life, and was deeply emotionally distressed. She even attempted suicide 3 times. Fortunately, her faith helped her through difficult times. After being voted as a Top 10 Regeneration Warrior, she hopes to help others who share her fate, and inspire them to live a good life.
