Mometu, the new “hand curated” on-demand live streaming platform launching this month as reported by Deadline.com, has acquired Timothy Hines’ new comedy feature “Tomorrow’s Today” for AVOD streaming. The award-winning comedy touts a cast of New York’s finest comedians with lauded cameos by superstar Kelly Le Brock and Academy Award nominee Burt Young.

The film “Tomorrow’s Today” centers on lovable grifters supported by their neighborhood of Astoria, Queens, New York. Small time grifter Charlie holds himself responsible for the death of his son. Trying to right his wrongs, he collides with his loser buddy Tommy G who thinks he looks like and is obsessed with actor Tom Hardy. They rob a liquor store to pay a gambling debt to scary mob boss Big Angie, only to find out the store is owned by the mobster. With the advice of Luca, (Burt Young), Charlie tries to right the wrong, at first by borrowing the money from his ex wife Donna, (Kelly Le Brock). The more they try to fix it, the more it unravels into a surprising outcome.

Deadline.com reported Bryan Louzil, Mometu’s VP of Business Development, said “We strive to bring an experience that you will not find anywhere else.” He added. “Mometu will provide that spotlight for filmmakers all over the world, including those here in North America to bring content directly to you at no cost.

“Our name Mometu means ‘more for me and you’ as we aim to develop a relationship with our streaming viewers in entertainment and creative exploration. Our goal is to make sure there is always more for me and you.”

“We’re thrilled to have Timothy Hines’ “Tomorrow’s Today” acquired by Mometu alongside upcoming Kyu-maan Lee’s crime thriller feature “The Policeman’s Lineage”, said Susan Goforth, President of Pendragon Pictures and one of the producers on “Tomorrow’s Today”.
