Prior to going fulltime into the fashion business, Martin worked as a model and, owing to a creative and innovative spirit, he developed a small luxury goods importing business. Over the years, he has worked across different sectors of the entertainment industry, including film and television, styling personal clients as he continues to develop himself personally and professionally. In a related development, Martin has kept his skillset sharp, studying at both the London College of Fashion and the London College of Style, in London, England.
One can rightly say that the apple did not fall far from the tree, as Martin’s family was integral in providing silks for the leading fashion houses and retailers of today, notably, Liberties of London and John Hind. His grandfather provided silks and expertise for the Royal family, including for the Queen’s coronation and her wedding dress. Martin seeks to continue the tradition, with his team recognised as leaders in innovative fashion solutions.
Martin Spencer currently works full-time with clients in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. His work includes film, television, commercials, and personal styling for a varied client base, ranging from personal clients through to those managing complex multi-million-dollar projects with large production teams. He also works for the likes of Disney, Netflix, Prime video, 20 Century Fox, ABC, NBC, Hallmark Channel, and others.
