Building off the success of their recent children’s book, “Lucy and the Lake Monster,” retired teacher Kelly Tabor and acclaimed filmmaker Richard Rossi are excited to announce the second phase of their creative venture. The dynamic duo launched a GoFundMe campaign weeks ago to bring the indie film adaptation of “Lucy and the Lake Monster” to life, aiming to combat the prevalent issue of bullying and instill positive values in children worldwide. So far, the GoFundMe has been moving forward steadily, but now the creative pair are reaching out to get the project fully funded.
In a world where children encounter numerous challenges, Tabor and Rossi believe in the transformative power of storytelling to address these issues. Their book, “Lucy and the Lake Monster,” tells the story of Lucy Lago, a nine-year-old orphan who, with unwavering faith, goes on a quest to bring awareness to Champ, the Lake Champlain Sea Serpent. Valuable lessons on overcoming mental health challenges in the face of adversity are shared with its young readers, while never forgetting to also entertain.
The upcoming indie film, directed by Rossi, holds a vital role in addressing the pressing issues children face today.
