Linechecker is the newly launched app on Google Play and iTunes that allows the user to view real-time information on the number of people currently standing in line for entry into a nightclub. The app, using the elements of queuing theory and real-time information from crowdsourcing provides updates about the number of people present in a queue.
The app is currently available for cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, Austin, Nashville and Seattle for searching out the lines in busiest bars and night clubs of the town.
Linechecker app displays a list of nightlife venues and the user can filter among the venues that are open for the time. The users can also filter the results based on their preferences and search for a popular night spot by city, line length, location, venue type or name and neighborhood.
The user can also get useful information such as address, directions and the phone number of the preferred venue. The in-app map allows the user to search and locate the night clubs easily while they can also crowdsource the information about a line near them.
There is another interesting feature that is soon to be added in the app. By crowdsourcing or sharing the information on social media the user can earn ‘Bubbles’ to improve their rank on the “top shelf”. These Bubbles will unlock many prizes, rewards, and redemptions for the user.
The app is developed to save the time and hassle which otherwise would be spent in standing in line or exploring different nightlife venues for entry. The user can simply check the status of a bar or nightclub through the app and plan accordingly saving both time and money.
The app is aimed to create a global community where the users can help each other in knowing the status of the queue for a nightclub. They can create a database of people waiting in line, checking in and creating a database that is updated in real time.
