Orlando, FL – May 4, 2018 – Jesse Brodksy, scholarship coordinator for the Lawyers of Distinction Scholarship, announced that applications are now being accepted for the $1,000 award. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 28, 2019 and the recipient will be notified during March 2019.
Created by Lawyers of Distinction, the scholarship is designed to help students with monetary support to help them attain their dreams of law school. To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior who has already been accepted into a university or college or a college student who is not yet in their final year of studies.
The application form can be completed online and there are no fees to apply. The application will include a 500 word essay that answers the question, “What is one law that you think should be put in place that doesn’t currently exist?” The answer should include the way the law would benefit society.
All applications will be reviewed by a member of the scholarship committee and one winner will be selected and notified. The recipient will have one week to confirm their information to receive the scholarship and upon successful verification, the scholarship will be sent to the financial aid department of their school. If the recipient doesn’t respond within the one-week time period, they lose the scholarship and a second winner will be selected.
The cost of obtaining a degree continues to escalate and the $1,000 scholarship opportunity offered by Lawyers of Distinction provides an important piece of the financial puzzle needed to succeed. The scholarship funds are transferred directly to the recipient’s school of choice for convenience, eliminating the need for student coordination.
