Venezuela’s political and economic crisis has forced out its top talent across all industries including sports, arts, and business. Venezuela has always been known for its ability to win international beauty pageants and produce top musicians such as Ricardo Montaner, Oscar De Leon and Franco De Vita. Now, top Venezuelan music producer Karla Escalante has been influencing the hottest stars across musical genres.

Since 2017 Karla has produced with Grammy Award winning artists such as Ian Chester, Gente de Zona , Christian Sebastia, Monica Rodriguez among many others. Escalante is one of the top music producers in Venezuela who has now expanded her brand to the United States recording music for Latin artists in Miami and Texas.

“As all of us artists have migrated to the US, so has our producers such as Karla, I mean without her we would make the top selling music like we do,” explains Christian Sebastia an award winning Venezuelan musician who is now performing out of the United States.

Latin music labels such as Carismah Records and Sony Latino have opened doors for the exodus of Venezuelan musicians by allowing them to take on big production projects and collaborate. Escalante offered the record labels a large rolodex of up and coming artists as well as projects of top artists that were just unable to take off due to censorship from the Maduro regime.

“I was fortunate to be able to offer record companies deep knowledge of the music industry in Venezuela, in just 2018 I helped over 5 new artists sign with Carismah or Sony records producing 4 albums at least two of which have already been nominated to international awards,” said Escalante.

Escalante is mostly known for producing top Christian music. She is a pioneer in bringing contemporary music to Latin America producing top albums for pioneering bands such as Generacion 12.

“It was an early project of mine to bring a more contemporary sound to Gospel music to Latin America as its evangelical movement grew exponentially in the 2000s. I was the first producer to record an award winning album from Latin America with the sound of likes of Hillsong,” Escalante explained.

Escalante now has her sights set on the US Latin market seeking to pioneer new sound fusions.
