The company said it has provided guidance to healthcare clients navigating requirements tied to patient privacy, as well as legal and financial clients with recordkeeping obligations tied to client communications. Lanstar does not provide legal compliance certification but said its role is to configure technical safeguards that support customers’ broader compliance efforts.
The rollout follows increased inquiries from local businesses in Rome’s healthcare and professional services sectors about how phone system security is handled during a transition from legacy equipment to hosted service. Lanstar said many of these businesses maintain older systems, including Avaya platforms, for years before making a full switch, and wanted assurance that data protection standards would carry over regardless of which system components remain in place during that period.
The enhanced security features are available to new and existing business customers at no separate charge and can be configured based on a business’s specific industry requirements. Lanstar said its technical team works directly with customers to determine which security settings are appropriate before activating them, rather than applying a single standard configuration across all accounts.
