La Quinta High School Students Excel at E-sports

With technology coming to the forefront of education, jobs, and in everyday lives, e-sports are gaining momentum in popularity. E-sport teams competitively play multiplayer video games against other teams, and now, high schools are producing e-sport teams to compete at state and national levels.

La Quinta High School of the Garden Grove Unified School District hosted its own e-sports tournament last year which attracted participation and excitement from more than 100 students at the school.

La Quinta’s top two teams went on to compete at  the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) sponsored e-sports tournament, finishing with an impressive second place trophy!

La Quinta High School is proud and excited to be apart of this new movement!. As e-sports continue to gain popularity across the nation, La Quinta High School is committed to offering students the chance to be apart of this new opportunity. The increase of STEM-related jobs is not slowing down, and participating in e-sports is a way for students to prepare themselves for the types of skills they may need in future STEM careers.
