Kora launches its Token pre-sale: a crypto-based new infrastructure for inclusive financial systems

Kora Network is announcing its pre-sale token event starting from March 5th; this will allow contributors to hold KNT (Kora Network Token), meaning having a partial role in the Kora Network. This event is anticipating by 3 weeks the public sale, scheduled for late March 2018. Currently, there are billions of people underserved by the current financial system and burdened by expensive and inconvenient access. Kora Network is designed to give hope to them, and Kora pre-sale event has been planned with the specific goal in mind to raise awareness around this topic.

The Kora Network represents a crypto-based new infrastructure for inclusive financial systems built on four layers of infrastructure to provide a low cost, universal access financial services platform accessible via SMS/USSD on feature phones, or with internet access via a mobile app, enabled by blockchain technology. This will help communities build self-sustaining, community-owned financial services ecosystems. There are about 2 billion people unserved by the current financial system. For decades, these people have been excluded due to high costs to serve them, lack of proper identity, and poor access to banking locations. Kora, a blockchain-based infrastructure that will empower instead of displacing existing communities, aims to solve this problem. Through Kora’s infrastructure, providers can now serve their users betterby enabling  transfer of money,  bill payment, lending and borrowing, and building of credit through their transaction history.

“What makes Kora different is how we aim to address the problem,” said Kora CEO and co-founder, Dickson Nsofor. “We are creating a solution that meets the market on its terms, and make access much easier and cheaper than what’s currently out there. For you and I, it can take less than a day to make a bank account, and we already have credit histories that follow us around. We want to be the platform layer that can make this easier for the billions around the world who don’t have this privilege.”

He added “As cryptocurrencies and blockchain have caught mainstream attention over the past year or so, they’ve also started to catch the attention of regulators. The legal framework is still in its infancy, but we’ve been working hard to ensure our Token Sale is legally compliant and that our technology is robust.”
