Justin Short Launches Indiegogo Campaign to Produce the IRIS Multi-Caliber System

The IRIS System is a multi-caliber firearm that can fire various calibers of ammunition without ever having to disassemble the firearm: born from an idea and sparked by the Marvel Iron Man movies, the creator of the IRIS System was an enthusiast who wanted to better understand the mechanical aspects of different firearms and weapons.

The technology of modern firearms has become more advanced and sophisticated.  However, these advances are still farm from the fabled and highly anticipated phaser gun of science fiction. The Iris System is the firearm that will bridge the gap between the present and the future of weaponry technology.

The IRIS multi-caliber system provides the ability to fire a variety of ammunition calibers without disassembling the firearm to switch out the barrel.  From rifles to pistols, the barrel of the IRIS system changes in diameter to the desired caliber similar to the mechanics of the iris of a camera.  When the proprietary magazine is inserted into the firearm, the gear teeth on the exterior of the magazine will rotate the barrel assembly to the desired caliber or diameter.

For the firearm consumer, no purchase of multiple guns is needed with the IRIS multi-caliber system.  For manufacturers, the sale of proprietary magazines allows for a continued profit.  For the armed forces, the need to carry various weapons is eliminated.  Simply change the caliber of the firearm as fast as a magazine can be inserted.
