“I was hoping that this path of being a surrogate would bring me positivity, optimism, and love but as I reflect on my experience, I realize how rocky and imperfect this road was for me.” Said Jana Jarrett, while introducing her new book to the Kickstarter community. “After giving this family a baby, they hurt and shunned me in the end, and this part has been both horrific and traumatizing, creating, in my observation, a messy and unnecessary metaphorical afterbirth.” She added.

She also published a blog called www.breakingthemould.club, which got a phenomenal response from the readers and this motivated her to write a book that can document her entire journey.
