Turbochargers are turbine-driven devices that are employed to increase the efficiency and the power generated by an internal combustion engine by boosting the amount of compressed air that enters the combustion chamber. Both the compressor and the turbines are of the radial flow type but according to the application, an axial flow turbine can be used instead of the radial flow type.
