In a first, RailFactor builds social media and business platform for the Railway Industry
Railfactor is a unique platform created for rail professionals, students, and aspirants interested in the rail industry.

In what could be termed a big milestone in the history of railways, Railfactor, on a mission to bring all rail professionals across the globe under one umbrella has announced the launch of its new exclusive online platform for the railway industry.

The one-stop hub will unite industry professionals and enable them to share their unique expertise and knowledge and would equip any national to work anywhere in the world. The platform is designed also to share the latest rail-related news, uncover new job opportunities, and allow professional and business development.

Railfactor has been conceptualized and founded by Mr. Deepu Dharmarajan, an India-origin technocrat with over 20 years of expertise in Railway Signalling and the most modern communication-based driverless solution. Settled in Australia, he has a career spanning into countries including India, the Netherlands, Australia, and Singapore, significantly contributing to some of the world’s iconic rail projects. He is passionate about the sustainable mode of Rail transportation and an advocate for the mass transit systems to address global warming.

‘The brand-new platform is open to rail enthusiasts of all ages and levels of experience, from students and those aspiring to join the rail industry to seasoned professionals hoping to transfer their knowledge,’ Deepu Dharmarajan said.

Over the past number of years, the railway sector has once again been targeted for rapid growth as the world seeks to find more sustainable methods of mass transportation in the face of climate change. The industry is growing at more than 7% worldwide and is expected to reach a cumulative worth of $850 billion by 2030. However, critical staff and skill shortages due to an absence of organized training for new recruits tend to restrict growth.

“It can be seen that operators  such as the 33-year-old Mass Rapid Transit system in Singapore and the Australian rail system, which, even with a rich railway history, were struggling to get skilled professionals, young technologists, and strategic thinkers to meet the industry’s needs and expectations. So, we decided to create a worldwide hub that would facilitate the growth of a solid knowledge-based educational system for railway professionals and providers,” Deepu Dharmarajan said.

Railfactor seeks to connect experts who will host training sessions on the latest technology, real-time layouts, and data with a captive audience dedicated to the continued development of our worldwide rail systems. A lack of the transfer of generational knowledge and passion for the sector also leaves a significant gap in product understanding. RailFactor seeks to bridge this gap as well.

RailFactor is also providing a Career portal in a bid to bring together worldwide job vacancies within the sector, making it easier for young professionals to find the perfect role to further their careers.

“With a large, dedicated community worldwide, we believe that the rail sector deserves a platform where professionals and enthusiasts alike can benefit from shared knowledge. Railfactor would be the place where our community could learn about new products, safety protocols, standards, and best construction practices so that we can continue to grow and inspire people to join the industry,” said Deepu Dharmarajan.

Dedicated company pages allow industry providers to list their products, and jobs on RailFactor. As the site grows, it will become a central database for companies to showcase their products and services. Operators and designers will then be able to filter by factors such as environmental conditions and international standards on one platform, significantly reducing time spent on what is currently a tedious endeavor.

Response from Industry from the start is promising. There are over 6000 visitors from all over the world and user registration from over 50 countries, he said.

Some of the key features of this global platform are –

(i) Online profile for individuals to showcase their career credentials

(ii) Online profile for companies to list their products & services, Technical Specification /Datasheet, Jobs, Press release, and articles
