Immersive Authority Releases Digital Vault and Legacy Mobile App Shared Trust

Innovative mobile app launched to record essential info for your loved ones before it is too late

Johannesburg, South Africa – May 11, 2021 – Zaid Mahomedy, Founder and Enterprise Solutions Architect of Immersive Authority has launched an app that allows individuals to securely store vital information that trusted parties (friends and family members) will need to know one day. These records can be unlocked to nominated trusted parties if a person is confirmed missing, disabled (and unable to manage his or her affairs), or deceased.

The app guides users to store information that is not typically found on a Last Will and Testament. Example a list of all their bank accounts, personal and commercial policies; the location of their postal and safe custody box; cell phone, social media and email passwords; where their birth certificate, property title deed and vehicle registration documents can be found; important contacts; personal messages such as funeral requests and confessions, and an inventory of other valuables).

“Beyond undocumented financial information, we don’t realise how much vital information other people in our lives may be dependent upon for survival, continuity and closure if we are not around,” explains Mahomedy.

Mahomedy’s drive to build the app was further informed by the increasing number of cases in families losing breadwinners who did not leave a record of this information. “The Shared Trust app was designed to give users granular control over who is authorised to view certain records in the future”, says Mahomedy.

Mahomedy was adamant about upholding the highest levels of data security and privacy even before the very first mock-ups of the app were designed. The Shared Trust app complies with and in some cases exceeds the requirements of regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) and South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), and Consumer Protection Act (CPA). An independent cybersecurity firm performed penetration tests, a security audit and vulnerability assessments on the app before launch.

The Shared Trust app is currently available on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
