The material handling system came together at Backcountry.com’s 325,000-square-foot distribution center in Salt Lake City, established in 2005. When the project started, Backcountry.com had only a small number of SKUs; but today they have more than 500,000 SKUs, with 350,000 on hand at any one time.  Hytrol conveyors were used by Hoj Engineering to bring Backcountry.com to best-practice lean manufacturing facilities.
