1. Prepare the Site and Materials

2. Set the Base Level
Place adjustable base jacks or base plates at grid positions. Use a spirit level or laser level. Get the bases as level as possible. Good leveling here prevents problems higher up. Small errors at the base become big errors at the top.
3. Install the Vertical Standards

4. Connect the Ledgers

5. Add Diagonal Braces

6. Install Platforms and Guardrails
Frame is stable. Place steel or timber platforms on ledgers. Ensure platforms are fully supported. Locked in position. Guardrails and mid‑rails at every working level. Toe boards where required. Check local safety regulations.
7. Build Upwards Level by Level
Repeat the process for each lift. Next standards. Connect ledgers and braces. Add platforms and guardrails. Complete one full level before moving higher. Never climb on incomplete or unbraced sections. That’s how accidents happen.
8. Final Inspection Before Use
Check everything before workers go up.
- All wedges fully driven and secure.
- Standards plumb. Bases stable.
- Braces correctly positioned.
- Platforms fully decked. Guardrails in place.
- Load limits understood.

- Wedges only partially driven. That’s not safe.
- Missing diagonal braces.
