Houston, TX – September 11, 2026 – The Law Firm of Solomon Musyimi has practiced immigration law in Southwest Houston for 24 years. The firm opened in 2002, serves clients in English, Spanish, Swahili and Japanese, and keeps Saturday hours so working families can come in without giving up a shift.
Houston has one of the largest and most diverse immigrant populations in the country, with long-established communities from Latin America, Africa and Asia. For a lot of families, what makes an immigration case hard has little to do with the law. It is finding a lawyer who speaks their language, knows their community, and is open when they are not at work.
“Many people carry an immigration question for years without ever putting it in front of a lawyer. I think it is only fair that a family gets the opportunity to have their situation evaluated honestly. When someone sits down with us, they hear plainly whether and how we can help. That has been our way of working since 2002, and it is why so much of our practice comes to us through former clients and their relatives,” said Solomon Musyimi, the firm’s founding attorney.
The firm handles family-based petitions, adjustment of status (applying for a green card from inside the United States), citizenship and naturalization, work permits and Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewals, waivers, asylum, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), consular processing, and removal defense. Family-based petitions, meaning parents, spouses and children of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents, are the largest part of the caseload.
Immigration law is federal, so the firm can represent clients before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the immigration courts no matter where a case is filed. Solomon Musyimi has practiced law since 2002 and is licensed in Texas and Washington State. He belongs to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the African Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Houston Downtown. The firm is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
Clients come from Houston’s African communities, including families from Nigeria, Kenya and Ethiopia, and from Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Ecuador. The office covers the greater Houston area, including Katy, Richmond, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pearland, Bellaire, Spring Branch and the surrounding communities. Most of the work over the past two decades has arrived by referral from former clients and their families.
The office is at 9494 Southwest Fwy #300, Houston, TX 77074, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments can be booked at (713) 541-4444 or on the firm’s website.
