HSI Immersive, a Haverford Systems Company encourages the next generation of VR, AR, 3D and immersive designers by sponsoring the Cornell University Theme Park Design Competition.

HSI Immersive, a Haverford Systems Company encourages the next generation of VR, AR, 3D and immersive designers by sponsoring the 3rd Annual Competition.

Downingtown, PA: Registration opens tomorrow February 1st, 2017 for Cornell University’s Theme Park Design Competition sponsored by Haverford Systems. By sponsoring the competition Haverford Systems seeks to encourage students to integrate new 3D technologies into attraction designs. Teams will take their vision from “blue- sky” concept to budgeted and rendered pitch, requiring a breadth of skills to create a successful package given spatial and financial constraints.

Teams are also encouraged to seek out industry mentors to guide them through the design process. Companies that offer mentorship will receive exposure for their company’s, ability to seek out fresh talent, and support the next generation of immersive designers! Please contact Emily Richards (information below) if your company is interested in participating. Mentors can be any professional that works or has worked in themed entertainment design, engineering, or management, including but not limited to: theme parks, amusement parks, ride manufacturing and design, museums, zoos, corporate visitor centers, casinos, restaurants, branded experiences, multimedia spectaculars, retail spaces, resorts and hospitality, and destination attractions.

Prizes Include:

  • $400 to the First Place Team

  • $100 to the Second Place Team

  • $100 for each team able to recruit an industry mentor (up to the first 50 teams)
