Hangzhou expected to receive 17m tourists during National Day holiday

Hangzhou, a hot tourist destination in East China’s Zhejiang province, is expected to receive more than 17 million tourists during the upcoming seven-day National Day holiday, flat from a year earlier, statistics from Hangzhou culture and tourism development center show.

The city will receive the largest daily numbers of tourists on Oct 2 and 3, and the top five search keywords for tourism in Hangzhou are drifting, Xixi Wetland, West Lake, Thousand-island Lake, and Faxi Temple.

Tourists from Zhejiang will account for 60 percent of the total, while 30 percent of them will come from the Yangtze River Delta region. The remaining will be from Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Beijing.

Statistics from the center show that 70 percent of the tourists who will visit Hangzhou during the upcoming holiday are aged 20 to 30, following by those aged below 20 and those aged 30 to 40.

Among the chargeable scenic spots, Feilai Peak at Lingyin Temple, Guozhuang, a private garden built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and Hangzhou Zoo are the most popular, according to reservation information on travel booking platforms.
