Google VR Hits Grades 4-8 in Jamul-Dulzura Union School District

Classrooms all over the country are integrating more and more technology into everyday teaching. Now, more than ever, teachers are encouraged to reach outside the traditional education model which uses lecturing, textbooks, and writing assignments to teach. In the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District, one amazing piece of technology has been integrated for older students. Google VR will now be used to enhance educational experiences in fourth through eighth grade classes.

Virtual reality itself is a popular piece of technology that uses interactive computer generated experiences to create a simulated environment where the participants visual and auditory senses are put right into a new experience. Google VR helps bring lessons to life. Through Google VR, students are able to put a Google VR device up to their face and experience a whole new reality. Google VR Expeditions is a program teachers can use to take a whole class on a virtual field trip to thousands of places in the world.

A field trip for every lesson a teacher has planned just is not possible, especially if that lesson is about the ocean’s floor or ancient pyramids in Egypt! With Google VR, teachers can take their students anywhere in the world for any lesson they have planned. These up close experiences help ignite curiosity for learning in students as technology they love comes into their classroom and brings topics to life right before their eyes. The students in Jamul-Dulzura Union School District will love the benefits they receive from an education supplemented by Google VR!
