London, UK – September 17, 2026 – Germany’s Opportunity Card has emerged as the most-viewed individual visa guide on VisaAtlas.org in 2026 so far, attracting 58% more views than the second-ranked Saudi Arabia Work Visa and Iqama guide.
Germany’s Skilled Worker visa ranks third, giving the country two of the top three positions and four places in the top 20 overall.
The analysis also reveals an unexpected pattern in US immigration research. VisaAtlas.org’s guide to the EB-2 National Interest Waiver attracted 132% more views than its H-1B guide, while Portugal’s D8 Digital Nomad visa guide attracted 82% more views than Spain’s equivalent.
The findings cover activity on individual visa and immigration-route guides on VisaAtlas.org between 1 January and 16 September 2026.
Germany dominates the 2026 rankings
The Opportunity Card, also known as the Chancenkarte, allows eligible applicants to enter Germany to look for work without first securing an employer-sponsored position, subject to qualification and financial requirements.
Its position at the top of the VisaAtlas.org rankings is backed by wider interest in German immigration options.
Four German routes appear in the top 20: the Opportunity Card, Skilled Worker visa, EU Blue Card and Freelancer visa.
Germany is also the only country to place two routes inside the top three.
The ten most-viewed visa guides on VisaAtlas.org
The top ten individual route guides so far in 2026 are:

The rankings show a strong concentration of interest around skilled-worker, job-search and employment-based immigration routes.
US National Interest Waiver draws 132% more views than H-1B
One of the clearest differences in the VisaAtlas.org data appears among US immigration guides.
The guide to the EB-2 National Interest Waiver attracted 132% more views than the H-1B guide.
The two routes serve very different purposes. H-1B is a temporary employment visa normally linked to a sponsoring US employer, while the National Interest Waiver forms part of the employment-based green-card system and can allow qualifying applicants to seek permanent residence without the usual employer sponsorship and labour-certification requirements.
The figures do not measure applications or approvals, but they show that users researching US immigration on VisaAtlas.org are looking beyond the better-known H-1B route.
Portugal leads Spain for digital-nomad interest
Portugal’s D8 Digital Nomad visa is the highest-ranked dedicated digital-nomad route in the top 25 VisaAtlas.org guides.
Its guide attracted 82% more views than Spain’s digital-nomad visa guide.
Portugal also appears elsewhere in the rankings through its D7 passive-income route and D2 entrepreneur route, giving the country a broader presence beyond remote-working visas.
Skilled migration dominates the leading guides
Eight of the ten highest-ranked guides are primarily connected to employment, skilled migration or employment-linked residence.
They include Germany’s Opportunity Card and Skilled Worker visa, the UK Skilled Worker visa, Denmark’s Positive List Scheme, Canada’s Canadian Experience Class, Australia’s Skills in Demand visa, Ireland’s Critical Skills Employment Permit and New Zealand’s Skilled Migrant Category.
Portugal’s D8 is the only dedicated digital-nomad route in the top ten.
The pattern suggests that VisaAtlas.org users are spending substantial time researching practical routes to work and longer-term residence abroad rather than focusing exclusively on short-term or lifestyle-led options.
