From Homeless to Successful Multi-Business Owner During Pandemic

An inspirational story about a business owner on a mission to use his success in business to motivate struggling business owners.

Fort Lauderdale, FL – May 21, 2021 – Tarvarus Osborne, entrepreneur and father of eight beautiful children, beat the odds and successfully pivoted his business during the pandemic. Osborne was once homeless due to the failure of his first business venture, which drowned him in self-doubt, hardships in life and embarrassment. He also experienced temporary loss of his legs late 2020 due to a ruptured spleen. However, the fighting spirit within Osborne helped him overcome both obstacles and flourish. He channeled his positive energy to create the successful, black-owned restaurant brand, Vegan On The Go, which has locations  in Ft. Lauderdale and Riviera Beach, Florida.

Nearly 100,000 businesses have permanently shut down during the pandemic, according to Yelp.com’s Local Economic Impact Report. Despite the pandemic, Osborne attributes the rapid growth of his business to the support of his family and loyal customers.

In addition to serving tasty vegan food, Osborne plans to host monthly events called “Healthy Bites with Vegan On The Go.” The purpose of the program is to increase access to healthy food and resources in low income communities. Osborne believes this will save them from chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
