TriCoast Entertainment and Florida Film House presents A BLAG & MARCO MALL Film – ‘MIAMI LOVE STORY’ – “the modern day West Side Story meets Romeo and Juliet” to New York and other major U.S. city screens.

As the first-ever film to be released as a national theatrical with the collaboration of Haitians and Dominican, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ takes place on the urban, art streets of Miami, whose inhabitants are heavily influenced from the Caribbean Sea’s powerful cultural divide between the Haitians and Dominicans.

Directed by Blademil Grullon (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Fade Away’), ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ loosely mirrors the classic tale of “Romeo and Juliet” as Miami teens, the artistic, yet violent, bad-boy ‘Sandy’ (Miguel “Fuego” Duran) and smart, good-girl ‘Flo’ (Lexi Delarosa) who are forced to balance their ethnic loyalties against their personal and romantic aspirations.

The tough and gritty tale begins with Miami’s top dog, Patrick (Paul Antoine) who roughs-it-out with Felipe (Mitch Lemos), for full authority of the Miami street drug markets. The feud only intensifies once Patrick’s younger sister, Flo, and Felipe’s nephew, Sandy, fall into young love.

The streets of Miami have become a battlefield between their families, their cultural differences of Haitian and Dominican are working against them – Will Sandy and Flo finally find love? Or will it result in an intense climax similar to “Romeo and Juliet”?

Produced by Marco Mall, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ had its world premiere at the 2017 Urban Film Festival in Miami, which represents the type of material the festival aims to represent – those that “signifies something cool, cutting-edge, millennial-techie-savoir faire. A healthy dose of what he calls ‘hip-hop swag’, like a well-appointed tattoo (or two) here and there,” wrote Christine Dimattei from WLRN.

The on-going feud between the Haitian and Dominican cultures have been a significant aspect of the Miami urban street culture, as Mall experienced the cultural conflict first-hand while growing up in Miami several years ago.

Mall describes the provocative tale of ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ as a “story is about forgiving the past and moving into the future. Even though you see a little bit of violence — that’s reality — at the end of the day we make sure that we have a positive message,” wrote Dimattei.

The original screenplay of ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ was written by four-time winner (including MTV Music Video Awards, BET Awards) and eight-time nominated (including Grammy Awards, Golden Globes), Actor and Composer/Soundtrack, Wyclef Jean, world-known for soundtracks on ‘Hotel Rwanda’ (2004), ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (2004), and James Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008).

The film’s soundtrack features Miami-born artists, including Jean, American rapper, singer, actor and record producer, Pitbull a.k.a ‘Mr. Worldwide’ known for singles ‘Timber’, ‘Time of Our Lives’ featuring Ne-Yo, ‘The Anthem’ featuring Lil Jon, as well as the film’s character ‘Sandy’, Miguel “Fuego” Duran a.k.a Fuego, who is signed to Pitbull’s record label, Mr. 305 Inc.

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ captures Miami’s urban and art culture exquisitely with cast members, Miguel “Fuego” Duran (Soundtrack of “Puerto Ricans in Paris”, written/ performed ‘Mami Mami’), Lexi Delarosa (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Zoe911’, ‘Mattie: The Discovery’), Paul Antoine (‘Love and Reality’), and Mitch Lemos (director of ‘A Haunting Expense’, ‘Fearless Heart’, ‘Fade Away’). Producer Marco Mall is the founder of the Urban Film Festival in Miami and runner of full-service production company based in the Wynwood section of Miami, Florida Film House and is credited for ‘Zoe911’, ‘Kevin Gates Short Film’, ‘Swingers Anonymous’.

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ will be available on VOD platforms beginning April 16th, 2018 and will follow an exclusive U.S. theatrical, beginning in New York.
