The Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a national non-profit that educates and guides underserved high school students toward a bright future. It prepares students for the workplace through chef mentoring, job shadowing, work experience, and job skills. Additionally, students receive college and career advising. Through a holistic approach to culinary training, students compete for college scholarships.
The following students form Ironwood Ridge High School won college scholarships at the 2018 C-CAP cooking competition:
Nick Perricone won a $17,900 scholarship to the International Culinary College in New York, New York. Mario Solorzano won a $4,000 scholarship to a school of his choice, as well as a position with the Omni Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.
