About the authors:

Fr. Art Baranowski is a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Art describes himself as “an ordinary parish priest” with no outstanding gifts other than vision and perseverance. He sees the model for the parish that he represents as what the Church wants and needs. At the foundation of his model for parish is the belief that the parishioners have to be given a way to help each other hear the gospel of Sunday and make connections to their everyday life decisions and the need for parish leadership to guide this process. He is the author of several books on simplifying parish structures and moving toward a fuller celebration of the Sunday Eucharist.

Theresa Doyle lives in the Diocese of London in Ontario, Canada. Theresa did her formal education in pastoral work in the Diocese of London, then proceeded to work in a local parish. After 6 years it became evident to her that the way parishes were operating had to change. Knowing clearly the call, for parishioners to embrace the church and live as disciples, drew her to the extensive international work Fr. Art Baranowski was doing. She enthusiastically responded to the offer to work with him in the parish he was pastoring, in the neighboring Archdiocese of Detroit. Theresa is on the board for the National Alliance of Parishes Restructuring into Communities (NAPRC) and continues to present workshops and provide resources to parishes.
