Espin Delivers the Longest-Range Folding E-Bike with A New 50% Larger Battery for Nesta

Innovative California-based electric bike startup, Espin, announces an upgrade to its popular step-thru folding e-bike, Nesta, with the addition of a bigger battery to deliver a week’s ride with one charge.

Espin is again looking to challenge the status quo in the e-bike market as the California-based electric bike company launches an upgraded battery bundle to its popular product, Nesta, consequently improving its already popular position as a cost-effective step-through folding electric bike with a 20ah battery. The move will enable users of the bike to enjoy up to 100 miles with one full charge, as Espin continues in the pursuit of delivering simple, efficient, and sustainable mobility options to customers.

A report by Spherical Insights LLP reveals that the global e-bike market size will grow from $35.69 billion in 2021 to $52.37 billion by 2030, as the demand for more eco-friendly transportation increases. One of the major challenges that e-bike enthusiasts worldwide have faced is the difficulty in covering a long range. Consequently, the team at Espin, led by the forward-thinking duo of Josh Lam and Yina Liu, is looking to address this issue with the upgraded Espin Nesta.

Espin has launched the new 50% larger battery for the popular step-thru folding e-bike Nesta, with a deal that enables buyers to get the product at just $1699 on pre-order against the eventual MSRP of $2,299. The bundle package will come with an additional 10.4ah battery to give riders a potential range of up to 140 miles, which is unparalleled in the industry. The deal is available on only 50 units of Nesta available in grey or blue.

The major update to the Espin Nesta is an increase in battery capacity to achieve a longer range. It originally came with a 504 Wh battery. However, the new 48V and 20Ah upgraded battery, which uses the same 21700 Samsung cells (5000mah) as used by Tesla, holds a larger 960 Wh of capacity. The bigger 20ah battery fits in almost the same physical dimensions as the standard battery and offers a longer life cycle and better efficiency compared to the old 10.4ah, which uses standard 18650 cells.

Espin is one of the few electric bike companies still using the higher quality Samsung battery cells, as many other ebike brands have opted to use cheaper, non-branded Chinese manufactured battery cells. In addition to its larger capacity that offers a full week’s ride with a single charge, the upgrade also ensures faster charging, with no risk of spillage while balancing the cells and regulating temperatures. Espin is offering a 2 year warranty on the new battery.

The Espin Nesta has become increasingly popular in a relatively short while, without cutting corners when it comes to design and manufacturing. Its amazing features include a 750W motor that peaks at 1000W and offers a top speed of 25 mph (45 km/h), a 6061 aluminum frame with ground weld seams on the head tube to create ultra-smooth weld joints with precision frame tube alignment, and an adjustable stem for a comfortable riding experience.

The pre-order for Epsin Nesta starts from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, with shipping to commence in early December.
