New York – March 9, 2018 – Former college quarterback from Oklahoma Baptist and current pro athlete will make his acting debut on back to back nights this year. First Owens appear on an upcoming episode of the new NBC series Good Girls on episode 3 which includes Retta, Christine Horn, and Reno Wilson from Mike and Molly. He will appear on the show during an episode coming on March 12 at 10pm. Also, the following night the 13th, he will appear on the new hit tv show called “The Quad” on BET on season 2 episode 7 which included Zoe Renee, Anika Noni Rose, and also Peyton Alex Smith. The Quad is a series follows ambitious yet troubled Dr. Eva Fletcher, the newly-elected President of the fictional Georgia A&M University. Upon arriving, Eva is charged with saving the prestigious HBCU from bankruptcy and her twenty-year marriage from crumbling while managing a tumultuous relationship with her rebellious only daughter.
Ernest Owens is looking to extend his role in Hollywood and is quickly getting into various programs.
This move in Owens’ career is an intriguing shift from his past. Owens had been an athlete for a period as he played quarterback for the football team at Oklahoma Baptist University and also played professional basketball for a period in Europe. He did study theater in college and is looking to use his experience to go further into the world of acting.
Good Girls is the biggest show that Owens has appeared in so far. The new NBC series is a comedy-drama about three women who rob a supermarket as a means of getting the money they need for their lives after having been knocked down so many times. But while they might have the money and got away with the crime, the robbery has brought in some more unwanted attention than what they might have imagined they could have gotten.
The show has a great cast that features Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta as the women who pull off the robbery and are trying to manage their newfound bounty. Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson, and Manny Montana are among the other stars on this show.
Good Girls marks a good movement in Ernest Owens’ work, but he is far from finished as he has many other roles coming about this year. He will also appear on the television shows the Gifted and Scream: The TV Series later in the coming year.
