An Addiction rehab center that looks after men in Edmonton, Calagary and Vancouver has called on people struggling with addiction to reach out to them this Christmas.
Drug Treatment Rehab Vancouver for Men has warned that Christmas can be a tough time for people battling drug and alcohol addiction and has urged them to seek help.
“Christmas is a time when people with addiction can feel more lonely and helpless than other times of the year, particularly if their families and friends have distanced themselves from them. It is also a time of the year when many reformed addicts could be tempted to fall off the wagon – whether it is to deal with loneliness or if they feel they need to fit in at a work or family festive celebrations.
“This is the time of the year when a lot of emotions come to the forefront and we want to help men who are worried about how they will deal with the festive season to reach out to us and let us help them get through it,” he added.
Inspire Change Wellness Addiction Treatment Center for Men has a toll free phone hotline and a special chat function on their website that they can use to reach out.
The Center, based in White Rock, sees patients from across the Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver are and helps men with addiction to heroin, marijuana, methadone, alcohol, amphetamine, meth, cocaine, opioids, club party drugs and prescription drugs.
“Many people don’t admit to themselves that they have a problem and wait until they hit rock bottom until they seek help. Sometimes they are worried about what friends or family will think of them. Or others don’t think their addiction is bad enough to warrant seeking help. The longer someone leaves their addiction untreated, the more dangerous it is to their health and the more damage they do to the friends and family around them, and work situations.
“We work in a men-only environment as we find that this helps men to talk freely about the underlying issues that impact their addiction and this is something we have found many struggle with in a co-ed environment.
“We have a holistic approach at the our clinic. We don’t just address the addiction, we treat the whole person and everything linked to that addiction. Our programs are designed to help our patients, mentally, physically and spiritually.
The Center has a team of highly qualified doctors, nurses, counsellors, nutritionists, exercise specialists who can deal with every type of addiction and people who are addicted to more than one drug.
