Dr. Dell reveals destructive secrets of burning gasoline in new book, Goodnight Gasoline: How To Win The Climate Change Challenge

Fuel-transition historian, educator, and climate activist, Twyla Dell, Ph.D., has recently published GOODNIGHT GASOLINE: HOW TO WIN THE CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGE, a 40-page picture book that illustrates some powerful truths needed to stop climate change now.

The majority of drivers and commuters are unaware that cars are pollution bombs. For every gallon of gasoline burned, 20 pounds of CO2 are left behind in the atmosphere, and anytime a tank is filled with 15 gallons of gasoline, 300 pounds of CO2 are left behind.

Do that every week and you will leave behind 15, 600 pounds of CO2 in a year. That is the size of an African bull elephant! So explains the new book GOODNIGHT GASOLINE HOW TO WIN THE CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGE by Twyla Dell, PH.D., Dr. Dell has made it her cause to reveal this destructive secret to the masses who blindly continue to buy cars burning gasoline.

Did you know that the odometer of your car not only records the number of miles that car has been driven but that at about a pound of CO2 per mile it is also a record of the number of pounds left behind by that car? If an odometer says 37,592 miles, for instance, that car has also emitted 37,592 pounds of CO2.

“These startling facts and this well-kept secret by the triad of car companies, oil companies and media companies keep us hooked on the current models of cars we see advertised on tv and other media. While electric cars struggle to gain traction in the marketplace, the public is manipulated with commercials extolling the outdated and downright destructive cars,” says Dr. Dell.

Twyla Dell, PH.D. has written about fuel in her three latest books, FUELING CHANGE, HOW WE CREATED CLIMATE CHANGE ONE FUEL AT A TIME, published in 2020, THE GASOLINE DIET: DRIVE LESS, LOSE POUNDS, SAVE THE PLANET, 2021 and the latest GOODNIGHT GASOLINE: HOW TO WIN THE CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGE.

“The world leaders appeal to the biggest stakeholders to cut back on CO2, but no one seems to recognize that the driving public can play a big part in reducing CO2. Ask them to cut back 10% of their gasoline use. Billions of pounds of CO2 will be saved. Let’s start there”, remarked Dr Dell.
