Brea, California, October 11, 2016 – The Ms America pageant is a celebration of women of true substance. Nova Kopp from Roswell, Georgia won the people’s choice award and was crowned Ms. International® 2017 at the national pageant held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Curtis Theater inBrea,California.
Nova Kopp was crowned Ms International crown on September 3, 2016 at the Curtis Theatre in Brea, California. A domestic violence awareness advocate, Nova has dedicated her People’s Choice Award prize money of $12,500 to various non-profit organizations such as YWCA, Girls of Grit, Extraordinary People Award, Hillside, Heart Walk, Heal the World Mission, and Through Gia’s Eyes. Nova is a philanthropist and an ambassador for domestic violence awareness through Hillside Organization, which spreads awareness about the needs of children and families affected by mental illness, trauma, abuse and neglect, working toward increased education and funding.
Nova is herself a survivor and her personal success story against all odds would resonate with women and children around the world. Professionally, she is Director of Training for AT&T, and also a model, actress, public speaker and emcee. In the past, Nova has won the Mrs. Georgia, 2015 United States, Ms Georgia America 2016, and the President’s Volunteer Award.
The Ms. America Pageant is renowned for bringing focus on social causes and recognizing beauty with a purpose. The national beauty contest is for women 26 years and above who are single, divorced, widowed or married. Instead of the superficial, the competition, through its four rounds of evening gown, interview, sportswear and on-state questions, promotes the cause of empowering women, celebrating their accomplishments, encouraging community service, and promoting, honoring and advancing the status of women.
