Digital release for award-winning drama \”Tri\” in Australia

The film is now available on iTunes and will be available on Amazon and Google Play from January 23.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – January 6, 2017 – Red Zeppelin Productions’ inspirational indie drama TRI hits VoD in Australia this January from Under The Milky Way.

The film is now available on iTunes and will be available on Amazon and Google Play from January 23.

The digital release comes fresh off the back of TRI’s award-winning run at the Chesapeake Film Festival, which ran from October 27-30. The film was named the Best Narrative Feature Film and stars Jensen Jacobs and Chris Dyer won Best Actress and Actor, respectively.

Directed and co-written by Jai Jamison, TRI follows the journey of triathletes overcoming obstacles to achieve their dreams.

Natalie (Award-winning actress Jensen Jacobs), an ultrasound tech with a history of not finishing things, is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for a triathlon. Natalie is introduced to the strange (and aerodynamic) world of triathletes and meets a colorful cast of characters as she trains for the Nations Triathlon. With the support of her new teammates, she digs deep to discover just how far she can push her mind and body.

“Triathletes who run races and folks who do endurance sports, this film is for them,” said Jamison. “But it’s also for anyone going through any type of adversity, or challenge. It’s for anyone who has had to push through obstacles, both external and internal, to complete something. We want this film to inspire, as well as entertain.”

“We are excited to team with Under the Milky Way to meet the growing demand of a highly enthusiastic international audience” added producer and co-writer Theodore Adams III. “I first met Teun Hilte and Jerome Chung, co-founder of Under the Milky Way, at the European Film Market earlier this year. It is only fitting that we closed on our deal here at the American Film Market since this is a project that truly transcends national boundaries, as does the sport of triathlon and certainly the global fight against cancer, which was the driving cause of making our film.”

TRI is the first US scripted feature narrative about triathlons that has been developed for theatrical release. Triathlon is the fastest growing endurance sport in the world and was the fastest growing of all sports in the UK in 2014. There are over 600,000 athletes registered with USA Triathlon, and over 3.2 million worldwide.

TRI’s diverse production team includes first-time African-American Director/Co-Writer Jai Jamison and Producer/Co-Writer Theodore Adams III, female award-winning Cinematographer Jendra Jarnagin, Co-Writer Monica Lee Bellais, Executive Producers Tara Gorman, Melinda Pettit, Kimberly Skyrme, Steve Tabor  and two-time Academy Award winner Russell Williams II, and Emmy Winner Salvatore Zannino, executive producer. Starring Jensen Jacobs, Shawn Pelofsky, Chris Williams, Walker Hays, Jaylen Moore, Kenneth Simmons, Chris Dyer, Kelly Spitko and Tim Reid.
