DC SWIM WEEK 2017 – a show of creative and innovative swimwear fashion for the summer

The DC SWIM WEEK also known as DCSW is a yearly boutique show where the selected and finest local and international designers meet up to share ideas and network on their innovative and sophisticated designs. The event hosts top fashion designers from all over the world who meet up to share, discuss and gain insights on the global trends in the swimwear fashion industry, with the main event held at the French Embassy.

DC SWIM WEEK recognizes both local and international brands, in a bid to inspire and improve lifestyle, convenience, luxury and trade-based relationships in DC. The primary goal of the event is to showcase talented and innovative fashion trends while building relationships between brands in the swimwear fashion industry.

Over the past 3 years, DC Swim Week has witnessed massive publicity, featuring on major news headlines across the globe. The show has also become a foundation for building a good career not only as a fashion designer but also as a model, with the current Miss USA 2017, Kara McCullough starting her modeling career with DC Swim Week in 2015.

DC Swim Week also enjoyed promotions when it was featured on Bravo’s House Wives of Potomac, a show hosted by Emmy-winning actor, Vincent De Paul in 2016. The 2017 edition of DCSW was hosted by the current Mrs. United States 2017, Mrs. Lauren Ziegler, which further established the event as one of the top fashion shows in the U.S and the world.

The 2017 DC Swim Week witnessed the unveiling of the Spring/Summer 2018 Swimwear and Cruise collection from 20 different swimwear designers from Washington DC and all around the world. The launch party for the event was held at the prestigious St. Gregory Hotel on July 27th and included a red carpet press and media reception. The launch party was graced by VIP guests, members of the press, fashion bloggers and DC Swim Week.

The major show was held at the French Embassy, which was hosted by the gorgeous Mrs. United States 2017, Lauren Ziegler on july 28th – 29th. The event was completely sold out, packed full of Washington DC’s elite business and fashion people.

Swimwear fashion designers featured at the DCSW 2017 include Banana Moon, Livia Monte-Carlo,Monica Hansen beachwear, Aquaccio, Relleciga, Djunah Swimwear, Mb swim, Mamazoo Madara, Tygerian Lace, Eyegasmic, Bathhouse, I Malandrini Beachwear, Mirame, Cocosand, Unify the Ties, and Aguamiel.

The 2018 season of the DC Swim Week has been slated to take off on the 26th of July through the 29th,  showcasing the Spring/Summer 2019 Swimwear collections from different local and international designers in Washington and other locations across the globe. The event will showcase new swimwear collections as well as fitness, lingerie and plus size collections.
